## Short answer

For Instagram research, IShort is a Sort Feed alternative that does more than sort: posting-time, hashtag, duration and audio analytics, AI transcripts, competitor tracking and a free link in bio in one extension. It starts with 500 free reels instead of the latest 25 posts per profile, and costs $10 a month month to month instead of $15. Sort Feed covers more platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook Reels).

## FAQ

### Is there a free Sort Feed alternative?

Yes. IShort's Free plan includes 500 reels and 10 AI transcripts (one-time), every analytics chart and unlimited downloads, with no card. Sort Feed's own free plan sorts the latest 25 posts or 1 week of a profile, without transcripts.

### Is IShort cheaper than Sort Feed?

Paying month to month, yes: IShort Hobby is $10 and Sort Feed Pro is $15, so IShort costs $60 a year less. Billed yearly, Sort Feed Pro is also $10 a month ($120 up front). Hobby is capped at 10,000 reels and 250 transcripts a month; Pro is unlimited.

### What does IShort do that Sort Feed doesn't?

IShort adds Instagram analytics that Sort Feed's site doesn't list: a posting-time heatmap, hashtag, duration and audio analysis, competitor tracking (5 accounts on Hobby, 25 on Creator), a free link in bio with click analytics and INR pricing.

### Does IShort have an outlier score like Sort Feed?

Yes. Each reel gets an “x avg” badge (for example 2.4x) comparing its views with the account's average, plus a Viral Score from 0 to 100 that weighs like rate, comment rate and views. Sort Feed's outlier score divides views by the creator's median.

### Does IShort need my Instagram password?

No. IShort never asks for your Instagram password, and you don't need a business account. Transcripts run on IShort servers when you click Transcribe.

### Does IShort work on TikTok or YouTube?

No. IShort is built only for Instagram: Reels, photos and carousels on any public profile.

### Is IShort a good SortFeed alternative?

For Instagram research, yes: 500 free reels instead of the latest 25 posts per profile, $10 month to month instead of $15, plus a posting-time heatmap, hashtag and audio analytics and a free link in bio in one extension.
